Newt couldn't sleep. His whole fiasco with Ste was getting to him. He didn't have feelings for him. He didn't. Only it didn't look that way.
Truth be told he was frightened of him. He hated the power Ste seemed to have over him. It was different than with Laleh. And he still couldn't believe it had happened. He didn't want it to happen again.
He went straight away after school to the library. Naturally, Simon asked him what was wrong and he gave him the usual, "Nothing."
Then he overheard Josh and Simon talking out in the stacks while putting books away. He was sure it was about him so he went to investigate, but instead blurted out, "I'm nothing like either of you!"
Both of them looked at each other with a silly grin then back to Newt, "We should hope not."
"I know you don't believe me, do you?" Newt stewed.
"What is wrong with you?" Josh asked.
"I'm fine, of course." Newt winced, chewing the inside of his cheek. "I hate everyone, you know."
"Of course," Simon said while putting some nonfiction away. "That'll never change."
"Quit mocking me!" Newt snapped.
"If something is bothering you, maybe we can help," Josh suggested.
"You can't." Newt kept shaking his head, no. He didn't want to leave the library. He didn't want to go home. He wanted to runaway. There was only one person he could think of who might could help. He just hope he could find away to get to their place after work.
